Miss Nigeria 2013 BeginsAdvocacy against SexualViolence
Miss Nigeria 2013 Ezinne Akudo Anyaoha, has
begun her advocacy against sexual violence
against young women in Nigeria.
The Queen, who intends to use personal
interactions, the traditional media and social
media in her drive, has begun with a heartfelt
message to young women in Nigeria. A message
which she intends to use all communication
mediums to make sure gets to young Nigerian
women in every nook and cranny of the country.
Recognising that sexual violence is prevalent in
Nigeria, Anyaoha stressed that young women can
avoid being raped by avoiding walking in dark
corners alone and also advised them to inform at
least one person of their whereabouts at all times.
She added that young women should always talk
to someone about harassment and molestation.
In her words: “Always talk to someone about
harassment and molestation. Don't be a victim.
Speak Up! It's your right”.
She however enjoined all well meaning Nigerians
to join her in fighting this anomaly.
The formal launch of her pet project ‘Project SEV’
an initiative which seeks to curb sexual violence
against young women in Nigeria will take place in
a few weeks.
